History & Biography
The group existed for a year beginning in 1989 before splitting up. The members used to be in Disaster. A demo, called Vulgar Necrolatry, and a self-titled single were issued however. The demo was designed as a ‘Hello Kitty’ edition! The single was through the famous scam label Seraphic Decay. The band’s drummer lost interest in metal, quit and was replaced by Antidote’s Mika "Arkki" Arnkil. The song Vulgar Necrolatry was later recorded by Amorphis, which had Abhorrence members. Amorphis obtained its deal with Relapse when the American label contacted the Finns for Abhorrence, but Abhorrence had already broken up. Abhorrence returned in 2012 with drummer Rainer Tuomikanto joining in 2013. A compilation called Completely Vulgar was issued. Waltteri Väyrynen joined in 2016. The reformed and Finland-based Abhorrence had a mini-album called Megalohydrothalassophobic through Svart Records on 14.09.2018.
