History & Biography
After four demos the Austrian black metallers hired the singer for Summoning as replacement to the departed Rune (now known as Tharen) and set out for world domination as the main band of Napalm Records. Formed by Kubik and Thomas Tannenberger in 1993, and named after a demon of war, the band saw little deviation from its techno-black metal sound. Never a live band, Abigor remained a studio project that introduced the usual K&F in the late 1990s and yet remained a popular underground band. Much like their contemporaries, the band members had multiple past and present other bands and participated in several cover/tribute CDs.

Peter Kubik/Virus 666 stopped his Hellbound and St. Lucifer bands in 2006 and reformed Abigor. The Austrian band was dissolved in 2003 when the main man announced he has had enough of the black metal scene. The band signed with End All Life Records in autumn. T.T. and Peter Kubik issued the comeback album Fractal Possession in June, 2007. A.R. was the name of the singer. The man left in 2013.

Soulseller Records was issuing an Abigor six-LP box in 2015. 2017 brought a split for Abigor, Nightbringer, Thy Darkened Shade and Mortuus. Avantgarde Music issued Abigor’s Höllenzwang in early 2018. Silenius returned in 2020 having left in 1999. Peter Kubik committed suicide in 2024.

Abigor was described by some as a NSBM band amidst connections to Absurd and other utterings.
