Reviews AETHER DROP - MANNEQUINS - AGOGE
The Italians' debut full-length Mannequins is 10 songs plus an intro. The band are called powerful post-grunge - numetal. Attitude - which is also the album's single and video - is the first song after the aforementioned intro. It doesn't offer too much new, it is something akin to grunge as claimed. Eyes Wide Open injects some catchiness and a solo too, there is more happening musically in this song. Tyranny Child keeps a good tempo for most of its four minutes but can't resist descending into an acoustic section for little reason. From The Inside is as if the band knows to up the tempo and aggression early to capture the attention. There is a bit of John Bush (Armored Saint, Anthrax) in Luca's voice and screams. Anger Grows, The Way We Answer, Keep Yourself Alive, Indifference, Aria and Made Of Tears round out this quintet's album. There is not much to differentiate between them, slower sections towards the end of songs make them too formulaic and don't completely succeed in making the songs catchy either. – Anna Tergel
