History & Biography
This band combines metal with folk elements and is based in conservative North Carolina, but sings of Vikings. Founded as a side-project to Sakrament in 2010, the band issued the Odin Will Provide demo in 2011. Jake and Heinrich were in a school band together previously. The traditional departures started immediately and piano man Robbie March and guitarist George Yiznitsky took off. The band opened for Finntroll and Ensiferum in 2011.

A local guy called Primitive Ways Records issued One Chosen By The Gods.Guitarist Jack Dougherty departed. The band opened for Alestorm’s Super Smashed Turbo US Tour 2016. The previous label issued the second record four years later. Tarot, featured guest vocals by Christopher Bowes of Alestorm. Æther Realm toured Europe with Alestorm and Troldhaugen and headlined the Pocono Folk Metal Festival in 2017.

The band switched to Napalm Records and released an album in 2020. Believe it or not, the title was Redneck Vikings From Hell. The band released a video in support of the album. The act also appeared at 70000 Tons Of Metal 2020. Vincent, who was in Wizardthrone with members of Gloryhammer, responded to a leaked screenshot of racist and sexist group chat among Gloryhammer members asking them to address the situation and recalling that the 2017 tour with Alestorm was saddled with racist language.

Burbage joined Cradle Of Filth in 2022. The group uploaded a song called Should I? in 2023. As is mandatory for every second band, Soilwork's Björn Strid was on guest vocals. Soilwork was also at the aforementioned cruise. Spencer Moore, drummer for Inferi, stepped in for gigs in 2023. The band toured the UK and Ireland with Cage Fight and Nekrogoblikon. Chris Jones (Oceans Of Slumber) was filling in for Burbage. The band was booked for the Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, Canada for 2024. Faroe Islands-based folk band Týr, Trollfest, Æther Realm and The Dread Crew Of Oddwood were touring North America that spring.

The band is known for its sense of humour. The band is also known for Vincent, and his band-mates, tolerating racism on tour as narrated above.
