History & Biography
The progressive metal band was founded in 2010. Aaron McKinney (vocals), Alec Rozsa, Zack Morgenthaler and James Benson were The Last previously for several years while at high school. The Last EP was the immediate demo in August 2010. Restoration was the next demo. It came in 2013 and half a dozen imprints started the repressing. Aaron McKinney was on vocals, guitar and keyboards. He would end up leaving in 2015. Chela Harper joined as the female vocalist. She left in 2014 and was replaced by Julia Holter who did not stay either. The band had a self-cover version with Prometheu while Gathering was a split for Amiensus and Oak Pantheon. The Ascension demo was released in 2015. Wolvhammer announced a tour with Abigail Williams and Amiensus.

Apathia Records of France released the band’s All Paths Lead To Death EP in the spring of 2017. The same label had been offered Ascension and passed on the band. Gathering II was another split release a year later. Transcending Records released the group’s first full-length album in 2020. Abreaction was supported through a video for the song Drowned. The band promised the album contains no synthesizers, but there was a cello. Amiensus had an album called Reclamation: Part 1 with the song Senses Amplified being an early upload and lyric video in 2024. The track The Distance contained guest vocals from Lars Nedland of Borknagar.

The name ‘Amiensus’ is derived from the Amiens Cathedral, which is located in Amiens, France
