History The Brooklyn-New York band Anaka was formed by guitarist Peter Pallis
who had picked up the guitar in 1995 to jam on his favourite music.
Peter would meet Karl Andreassen later that year through school. Oddly
enough, Andreassen would join the band of Tony Heredia at this point.
Heredia, who knew Peter Pallis through the neighbourhood, would go on
to
join Anaka later following the aforementioned Andreassen.
Although Karl and Peter would jam over the years, it was several years
later that the two would officially unite. The band would take shape
when Heredia would also join the fold in 2000. Anaka lacked a singer,
although the problem was solved when Peter's younger brother was
drafted. Jimmy Pallis would fill the vocalist slot in February, 2001
taking over from his brother.
The band would record and issue the Down Devil's Road demo in 2002.
They
further signed to the fledgling Godsend Records in early 2003 and began
working on a new album called Rust & Jade which was originally due in
mid-2003.
The quartet cites Metallica, Alice In Chains and Black Sabbath as some
of its influences.
