History & Biography The band was formed in 1995, from the ashes of Necromancia, and released a demo entitled Nihil Negativum. One of the rare and later French signings to Osmose Production, the band is described as Symphonic black metal and opened for Immortal in France (September 1999) between the sophomore full length and the Sodomizing The Archedangel EP. Earlier the band left Season Of Mist due to complaints of lack of promotion and accounting. Drudenhaus, according to the band, is a medieval concentration centre for accused witches. It is also the band's studio.
The French band opened for Dark Funeral in early 2002 in Europe. Occult, Ragnarok and Anorexia Nervosa were forced off the Dark Funeral tour in Europe. The headliner was facing financial losses, for among other things, bus rental, and had to send one bus back. Anorexia Nervosa saw French live action in the spring and autumn of 2002. The act signed to Listenable in 2004 after leaving Osmose in 2003. Redemption Process was issued on October 12th.
Singer Hreidmarr Rose Mother Sucking quit the band in late 2005. The band quit the world in 2007.
Stéphane Gerbaud awoke from slumber after two decades of inactivity and joined a version of Ævangelist in 2019.
Reviews ANOREXIA NERVOSA - REDEMPTION PROCESS - LISTENABLE
It is not like these French metallers were doing much differently previously, so the album's title might be aimed at the listener or even describe the band's signing to Listenable Records. All kidding aside, Anorexia Nervosa is a symph/synth band that could have inhabited the same circles as Dark Funeral, but given the orchestral backdrop takes a turn for Cradle Of Filth instead. The vocals are anguished and hurtful, a couple of instances of funny wailing notwithstanding, and the lyrics switch languages here and there. Antiferno and Codex-Veritas are blazing tunes only damaged by the synthesizers. Redemption Process is a diverse album that may or may not appeal to black metal fans. Read above and decide accordingly. - Ali "The Metallian"
