History & Biography
After the demise of Celtic Frost, it didn't take Tom Fischer long to borrow some Celtic Frost in name and music and form Apollyon Sun in 1997. The band’s monicker was inspired by the proposed name of the latest Celtic Frost album, Under Apollyon’s Sun. The group operated as Apollyon's Sun earlier for two years. With that monicker the act oddly participated in a Celtic Frost covers' CD, called In Memory Of Celtic Frost, in 1996. Dwell Records, and others, were issuing covers' albums with a vengeance during this period. Apollyon's Sun covered Babylon Fell from Celtic Frost's Into The Pandemonium album.

The new band proudly paraded a keyboard and a programmer and had predictably not been as successful as expected. The Sub album of 2000 featured a guitar contribution from Ron Marks who had been in Celtic Frost briefly. An EP called God Leaves (And Dies) was issued by Mayan/Sanctuary in 1998. The band and label had a falling out in 2002. Fischer reformed Celtic Frost in 2002 and took Unala with him. The reunion did not last and Thomas formed Triptykon. An album called Flesh was shelved. 2003 brought a compilation for the band in conjunction with Hellhammer and Celtic frost, which was called Are You Morbid? This title was also awarded to the biography of Fischer.
