In the autumn of 2014, the German Death Metal band Archaic Thorn was ready to release a new MCD/MLP called In Desolate Magnificence through a new deal with Unholy Prophecies. It would contain five new tracks including an Intro. The band was formed in 2010 by M.F. and C.L. and issued a 2013 demo named Hydra Throats.
