History & Biography
Italy-based black-death metallers Askesis signed to Time To Kill Records for the release of its debut album in 2023. The song revolved around concepts from Greek mythology brought into contemporary themes. The band was founded in 2013. Wrecks From Cosmos, named after the tour of the same name, was a Nox Interitus/Askesis split CD in 2016. The songs were also on the 2016 demo, The Path To Absence. Black Ontology was a 2018 demo. Singer and guitarist Julian left. Bassist Aura Negativa switched to guitar. He switched back when bassist Xaphan left in 2022. Askesis released its new album, Beyond The Fate Of Death, through Time To Kill Records in late October.

Askesis, or ἄσκησις, translates into ‘self-discipline in ancient Greek.
