History & Biography

Reviews

ASSEDIUM - RISE OF THE WARLORDS - MY GRAVEYARD
Assedium sounds like an awful name for a band - well, really for anything unless you are a magic element or potion for right-wing fascists or something - but despite the name, the Italians are a tour-de-force vintage metal band without actually being vintage. The band’s sound is a clear attempt at capturing the energy and aura of the mid-'80s which it does with success. The band’s name is an obvious tip-off of a certain amount of influence by insider band, Warlord. Beyond the obvious Assedium has an array of sounds reminiscent of Iron Maiden and Omen. The thrilling sound of pure heavy metal (no lame keyboards here) and backing chants are commanded by the power of Luca Cicero’s voice. The man ahs the range and clarity to front a metal band and does a good job. The band could sharpen its aggressiveness and soling a tad, but is otherwise a nice little surprise for power metal fanatics. - Anna Tergel
