History & Biography At War was serious about its mercenary monicker. You would know what I mean if only you observed the band's image. Signed to New Renaissance the band, naturally, didn't go anywhere. The trio specialized in simple speed and thrash metal. There was a report of the band reforming in the late '90s. A reformation did occur in 2007. The reunited band was working on new material and playing the World War IV Thrash Metal Festival at Club Europa in Brooklyn, New York in the late summer of 2007. Reformed thrash metal bands Sabbat, Onslaught, At War and others were to play at the Thrash Assault 2 festival, Which would take place on February 23rd, 2008 in Warzburg, Germany at Soundpark-Ost, which was formerly called Rockpalast. At War issued a DVD called Live At The Norva in 2008. The band was also planning a tour of Mexico. The band played at the True Thrash festival in Japan in 2010. At War signed with New York's Heavy Artillery Records in 2008 for the release of Infidel, the band’s 2009 comeback album. Dave Stone left in 2014. Mattlock Lopes replaced him. Brian Williams replaced him. At War played at the True Thrash Fest in Germany in 2019. Brian Schroeder returned to drum for the band after a five-year hiatus in 2022. He had played with the band for a couple of years prior and been the roadie for Dave Stone as well. The band was booked for Maryland Deathfest in 2024 and announced a concert in Mexico as well.
