History & Biography
This crossover side-project was founded in 2008 and was active until 2013. At this point, Tim Lambesis was arrested for hiring a hitman to murder his wife. He would spend time in jail after pleading guilty. The project was picked up again in 2021.

Total Brutal was influenced by the right-wing politician, bodybuilder and actor Arnold Schwarzenneger, but also displayed a sense of humour with its titles. The album was on As I Lay Dying’s record company, namely Metal Blade. The same year brought a cover version-laden EP called A Very Brutal Christmas. Double Brutal contained a track called Double Ahhnold. The band opened for Children Of Bodom in 2009 after touring in 2008. The Jingle All The Way EP of 2011 extended the joke. Austrian Death Machine had an album called Quad Brutal through Napalm Records in 2024. The crossover band was constantly inspired by the actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. A track inspired by the Terminator film was called Destroy The Machines and available early.

Concert and studio musicians have accompanied the main man. These have included Josh Gilbert who played bass for As I Lay Dying.
