History & Biography
Bastard from Hanover has an unknown background, but was formed in 1977. The band had some Bad Company inspiration and opened for the likes of Judas Priest and AC/DC. The band supported AC/DC on its 1978 German tour. With a new person in charge at Teldec the label dropped the band. Ulrich actually left the band ostensibly to pursue his studies and was replaced by Ullus Steinvorth in 1980. The latter man lasted one year.

Live And Alive was recorded at Kiel’s Ball Pompös and in Hamburg. Fritz Randow (of Eloy and later of Victory, Sinner and Saxon) replaced Korn on drums in 1981. The band was heard on the soundtrack to the film She alongside the likes of Motörhead. Meissner was back for this recording, which took place in Italy. Singer and bassist Kalle (Carl) Rothert died on January, 9th, 2008.
