Reviews

BOKOR - ANOMIA1 - SCARLET
Bokor is a new name out of Sweden whose name, sound and disposition lends itself to mystery and wonder. There exists next to no information on the band and one suspects that the band’s label is in the same boat for the label-provided biography is as illuminating as a voodoo priestess.
The group is straddling the line between the alternative rock of The Tea Party, moodiness of Opeth and progressive elements of Tool and Porcupine Tree. Convert Into ends up being the album’s most metallic cut even though it does not begin as such. The technical and soulful sounds of the band, the progressive clutter and the agonized vocals of Lars Carlsberg are not meant for easy listening or digestion. Absorbing the music of a fifteen-minute song is just the beginning of the adventure. This is why Bokor is truly progressive. - Ali “The Metallian”
