History & Biography
The Los Angeles-based band featuring L.A. Guns' Tracii Guns and Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx was formed in early 2002. The two wanted to form a rock band with an attitude. Sixx also explained that he wanted a band name like Sisters Of Mercy or Lords Of The New Church. Adema's Kohls joined the band and on drums and was followed by the unknown singer London LeGrand. The frontman was actually recommended to the Brides by L.A. Guns' bassist Adam Hamilton. Erstwhile Motley Crue singer/guitarist John Corabi and Hamilton were also in the band at the beginning. Corabi would opt to pursue his solo act.

Sixx and crew had to change the band's earlier monikers because the names would practically banish the band from radio and MTV from the start.

The band signed to Sanctuary Records for three records in late 2003 and issued its album in March of 2004. Universal had already issued the CD in Japan. Drummer Kohls recorded half of the album. He, however, had to leave the band due to "scheduling conflicts." Coogan would become the band's drummer. BoD shot a video for the song Shut The Fuck Up to coincide with the album's release.

A tour with Kiss and Poison went ahead with Brides Of Destruction after Sixx called Poison "fake" and refused to tour with that band. The band instead took Amen on the road with it. A Toronto show was cancelled when the band could not enter the country. When Sixx became reengaged with Motley Crue once again the band forged on with new bassist Steve Bruno. Amen’s Scott Sorry soon replaced him, while the band augmented the guitar slot with Ginger of The Wildhearts. Ginger would soon leave the band. Runaway Brides was issued through Shrapnel Records. The band shot a video for the single White Trash in the summer of 2005. Tracii Guns joined Quiet Riot in late 2005 for a liaison that lasted a mere month. The official disbandment came in 2006. London LeGrand joined a new band called Souls Of We in 2009. Former Brides Of Destruction singer London LeGrand had a new 2016 project called Brides Of Destruction Göteborg. He was joined by guitarist John "JB" Bergqvist (Disregard), bassist Rodolfo "Rude" Montenegro and drummer Peter "Pan" Ottosson. An album was expected in late 2017.

Reviews

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION - HERE COME THE BRIDES - SANCTUARY
Here come the Brides (a lesbian reference?) with an album that almost was not. The band, featuring Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx and L.A. Guns' Tracii Guns, had obtained a Japanese contract and it was only a couple of months ago that Sanctuary stepped in and signed the band for North America. To be sure Brides Of Destruction has musically nothing to do with Motley Crue. The band is a potpourri of styles with influences from Ministry (opening riff and beats), Guns 'N Roses, Power Man 18000 (or whatever they're called), Sex Pistols and even the Beatles if poppy songs like Life are taken into consideration. The singer is a newcomer called London LeGrand - trivia: Nikki Sixx was once in the band London - with a versatile voice. He sounds popish on one song, like Axl Rose on another and often gives the band a vibe akin to Alice In Chains. It can be a fun listen. Fans should not expect a sound approximating the members' main bands though. - Ali "The Metallian"
