History & Biography
The German hard rockers were much more successful as Bonfire, but still managed some acclaim as Cacumen. The original band was formed in 1972 in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Johann Ziller’s brother Karl was in the band also on guitar. The band had a little write-up as an independent act in a newly founded Metal Hammer in Germany in 1984. The group appeared at Desaster festival in Germany with Warlock, Axe Victims and Street Fighter.

The name was changed to Bonfire to accommodate a record company request in 1986. The latest bassist Jörg Deisinger came over with the name change as well. A couple of songs from Down To Hell were also recorded for Bonfire. Maier-Thorn died in 2017.
