History & Biography
The act was founded in September 1981. Demo 1983 was the first release. Chariot was a solid heavy metal band from London which was signed to and was managed by one Mike Shannon owner of London's heavy metal record store Shades. Chariot had a good support from the UK press and radio, but went nowhere due to a lack of image and overseas promotion. The band opened the final night of the Reading Festival in 1987. John and Jeff left the band signalling the end. Simon Dawson and Tony Newton came in, but that did not last. Two band members went on to play in Charge which was later called Outland and then renamed again to Dirty Deeds and Deeds.

Dirty Deeds (later Deeds) was managed by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris, but suffered from the same challenge as Chariot! Harris eventually let the band go on without him. Majestic Records re-released the band's two albums on CD in 2004.

The same year brought an album called What Goes Around which was a collection of unreleased material destined for album number three. As a bonus, the disc featured a full and unedited Marquee live show. The band issued a CD called Behind The Wire on its own Rippa Rock imprint in 2006. The band had officially reformed in 2006. In The Blood was a 2012 demo. Demons & Angels was issued in 2014. The band also issued its 2018 CD The New Horizons Dawn independently.

Franklin died in 2021.
