History & Biography
Chateaux was formed in 1981 by guitarist Tim Broughton, bassist Alec Houston and drummer Andre Bayliss and signed with Ebony. The band was formed as Stealer and featured Steve Grimmett on vocals on the debut. The band's first appearance was on the 1982 sampler Metal Mainiaxe, which Ebony had released. Houston and Bayliss were replaced for Firepower. With Dadson's and Mason’s departure in 1986 the band was pretty much left to die.

The band had its catalogue issued in digital format by Metal Nation Records in late 2016, which was run by original Tygers Of Pan Tang vocalist and Ex Neat Records owner, Jess Cox. The catalogue had also simultaneously been released on CD by No Remorse Records in Greece and Classic Metal Records in Brazil.
