History & Biography
This folk ambient metal band was founded as Erbos (ancient greek for ‘darkness’) in 2005 and became Craving in 2006. The founders were Ivan Chertov, Lukas Winkler, Lutz Pohlabeln and Johannes Pätzholt. Chertov was a native Russian. Demo 2006 was a full-length. The Revenge E-P demo followed in 2007.

Apostasy Records started working with the band and a debut album was released in 2012. The act pushed out a video for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 winner Only Teardrops by Emmelie De Forest. This song was on At Dawn. The group was part of the Hell Revisited European Tour 2013. The group also played several concerts with Nachtschatten. The band kicked off 2016 through a tour with Wolves Den. Wielder Of Storms was a demo in 2016 after the band had issued a second record.

Maik Schaffstädter left in 2016. Wanja Gröger arrived in 2018, but had begun touring with the act two years prior. He is one of those drum stools-for-hire. Second guitarist Jonas Papmeier came in 2021. He too had been in Àletrun. The group signed with Massacre in 2022. Germany-based Craving had an album called Call Of The Sirens through Massacre Records in late 2023. There was a video for the song Blood Ov Franconia. This album had been promised two years earlier.
