Reviews CROSSINGATE - 7,000,000,001 SCREAMS - PERVADE To start 7,000,000,001 Screams is not my cup of tea and not something I would listen to, but the band has a good couple of things going for it, hence the high mark. First, the album name raises a question and is intriguing. No idea what it refers to! Second, the cover model deserves some sympathy being pictured listening to Rebecca Black. Poor thing.
Onto the music and the supposed thrash band is playing a mix of heavy metal with modern rock with keyboards and classical pieces. Not something one would get into in the realms of metal, but done very well by these guys. The drummer has a great command of his kit and very adept on the bass drums. The singer has range and the band’s guitarist pulls off impressive hooks and solos. There are (obviously too much) keyboards on the disc, but Crossingate’s guitar solos are grade A. Interestingly, the singer even raps on opening number, High Point. Ironic in two ways. - Anna Tergel
