History & Biography
Florida thrashers Cyst were formed by Dan Ortega, Mike Maxson, and Dean Piekara in 1995 using the Stalkbreed moniker. A new name was chosen approximately a year later. The band recorded a full-length entitled Concussion Symphony in late 2000, which with the band's signing to Hook n Mouth Records became the band's debut full-length release in late 2002. Earlier three of the songs had formed the basis for a demo. The album was produced by Jeremy Staska at Studio 13 where previously bands like Hateplow and Malevolent Creation had worked.
Cyst had by this time opened for the likes of Witchery, Mortician, Hatebreed, Amon Amarth, and Slayer.
