History & Biography
Damnation was yet another Swedish side-project. This one had been around since 1989 as a Bathory cover band. Micke Jansson was on vocals. The band was comprised of the known core of Cabeza and Stjärnvind. Their presence made this yet another side-project of Entombed and Dismember next to Born Of Fire and Murder Squad.

Damnation had a demo in 1994 called Divine Darkness, which became a 7" in 2004, the Insulter Of Jesus Christ EP from 2004 and the full-length Destructo Evangelia in 2004. Furthermore, Watain's E and Mörk played on the full-length. The said CD was issued by the band-owned Threeman Recording.

Reviews

DAMNATION - DESTRUCTO EVANGELIA - THREEMAN
It really is not a surprise that Sweden's Damnation began its deviant journey as a Bathory cover band. Past the kick off intro, suitably named Invocation Of The Storms, the first notes of Insulter Of Jesus Christ (also notably a band member) sounds like a raw Motörhead, which is what Bathory was at the beginning. The vocals are raspy and evil and song after song invokes the simple, raw and undefiled aura of the early black metal underground. Melody does creep into the offering on the first proper track or on the positively harmonic Eternal Black, but Damnation is about just that and not much else. The band's photos are classic black metal and take one to the days of Hellhammer and Treblinka. "Sataniiiiic redemptioooon...." - Ali "The Metallian"
