History The band was founded as Savage Choir in 1979. Then disbanded. Then returned as Savage Choir. Then became Death Mask. Then became Savage Choir again. Then returned as Death Mask in 2006. The world is waiting for the next name change to Savage Choir.
Death Mask was a New York, USA-based speed metal outfit. Split The Atom was comparable to Exciter and produced by Jon Mikl 'Thor' in New York. The reformation line-up had a demo called Sitting In The Dark in 2011. Michael Poplees (Morbid Sin, Skull Session, etc.) was on bass. Rob McDonough was on drums. Singer Michaels died of a heart attack in 2021.
