History & Biography Finland's Demilich is infamous for its brutal and complicated delivery and fun songs like The Sixteenth Six-Tooth Son Of Fourteen Four Regional Dimensions (Still Unnamed) or The Putrefying Road In The Nineteenth Extremity (...Somewhere Inside The Bowels Of Endlessness...)! The debut appeared on Necropolis, which at that time was distributed by Pavement, and was rereleased some three years later by Repulse over in Spain. The European version featured the band's The Fourth Instructive Tales demo as a bonus. The album jacket proclaimed the band's abstinence from vocal effects, which made them even more amazing. The band lyrics have been the subject of much interest as they are presented as a cryptogram inside the jacket! The sole instrumental on the album contained a growl. The band split soon after the debut's release because of main songwriter Boman's boredom with the scene. The band had tried changing styles without success.
The band officially played its final show in its hometown of Kuopio on July 22nd, 2006. Xtreem Music (follow-up tp Repulse) released a Demilich 12” LP of the band’s 1993 album Nespithe in 2009. It was adorned in “Red Wax Splattered In Black.” Boman guested on a new recording by USA’s Hellwitch in 2009. He also joined Winterwolf. The act reformed in 2014. Jarkko Luomajoki was on bass. The group was booked for Maryland Death Fest in 2015. Antti Boman made a guest appearance on Blood Incantation's song Inner Paths (To Outer Space) instrumental with one growl. He also climbed the stage with that band at Hellfest in 2022 as Demilich was playing the event. The group also announced a US tour for 2022.
