History & Biography Paris’ technological metal band chose itself an unoriginal name and was formed in 1994. A couple of demos like Infected Brain Machine and Mind Time Control appeared before the group issued the Blight And Vision Below A Faded Sun full-length. And Shall The Sky Descend was re-issued by Equilibre in 2007.
Zomb left in 2014. Alma | Baltica was a 2017 demo. The band vanished in 2019 and issued a compilation called Vanishing Point two years later.
Reviews DIRGE - AND SHALL THE SKY DESCEND - EQUILIBRE MUSIC Four songs over 73 minutes long are sure to surprise most listeners. And Shall The Sky Descend was originally released in 2004 but is here again courtesy of the band’s new label. True to their name Dirge play slow often down-tuned music. The title track, all 24 minutes of it, alternates between long passages of mostly low-key anger, guitar work and atmospheric almost Pink Floyd like ambience. The Birdies Wheel follows the same formula and is dark, heavy and ambience in a short 11 minute 40 second epic. The Endless might be an appropriate title for a song of its length but it is by no means reflective of it quality. This quintet gives us Glaring Lights to end And Shall The Sky Descend and with it provide shades of Saint Vitus. One way to describe this particular Dirge is emotions expressed in an unusual and unique way. - Anna Tergel
