History & Biography
Brescia-based Dreamhunter - not to be confused with the Swedish band with the same name - was formed in 2002. The hard rockers were inspired by '70s bands like Rainbow and Blue Öyster Cult, which they occasionally covered as well. The group’s debut was self-produced at Phoenix Studio. Federico Loda replaced drummer Bottazzi in September of 2007.>br />
The group issued a three-song demo in 2010. These songs appeared on the second album, which was back on My Graveyard Productions. The band disappeared almost immediately after playing several 2011 concerts, including one with Wicked Machine, and Andrea Verginella joined My Darkest Red circa 2023. My Darkest Red was the continuation of Poisonheart, but with a turn away from the glam style of the latter band.

Reviews

DREAMHUNTER - THE HUNT IS ON - MY GRAVEYARD PRODUCTIONS
Hard rock from Italy is guaranteed to be '80s style no matter the time or era. The opener of The Hunt Is On, The Good, is disappointing. It truly lacks character and cohesion as the quintet don’t give the impression of a tight band. An early Iron Maiden style solo is the sole highlight. Dreamhunter is reminiscent of an unconvincing version of Whitesnake. Maybe it is because of the presence of the word 'dream' but Michele Gusmeri does sound like an Italian higher pitched version of Don Dokken at times. Hope is more hard rock of days gone by and again only a few steps away from Whitesnake. Thunder incorporates some American hard rock and bluesy elements to go with a few high-pitched screams. Can’t Get It Out is very much generic hard rock. Slave To The Piston is another manifestation of the Whitesnake influence. Ride Into My Mind copies a few Iron Maiden riffs on the way. Vanity closes out The Hunt Is On with a long seven-minute plus of what may be termed epic hard rock. - Anna Tergel
