Reviews EDDIE OJEDA - AXES 2 AXES - BLACK LOTUS
Eddie Ojeda is, of course, the guitar man for Twisted Sister and with Axes 2 Axes parts way with some of his own compositions. This is a special ”˜solo’ album seeing that it features Twisted’s Dee Snyder, as well as names like Ronnie James Dio and Joe Lynn Turner. It pays to have industry connections. Or, does it? Truth be told the collection of songs is weak and the by-the-numbers approach makes Axes 2 Axes a forgettable instance in heavy metal history. At least, and contrary to the album’s name, this is not a show off guitar lick type of an album. Nevertheless, the only tracks really worth listening are the slow number The Reason, Living Free (featuring Turner) and Tonight (featuring Dio). Otherwise, songs like the cheesy Senorita or Love Power or the cover of Beatles’ Eleanor Rigby are dull and hardly worth repeat listening. - Anna Tergel
