History Enola Gay is named after the criminal aeroplane that dropped the first atomic bomb. In contrast, Enola Gay is a progressive hard rock band.
Enola Gay was formed by Carsten Duhme in 1987. Several demos including 1992's Spectrum Of Colours appeared. In 1994 the band could be heard on Shark's Raw, Heavy and NEW sampler. After the debut (which was released in Japan by JVC) the band played with Stratovarius, Iced Earth and others and eventually re-entered the studio to record Pressure as a quartet. Uwe Lulis of Grave Digger contributed guitar on this album. The group disbanded in 2001, made a short come-back in 2015 and several members appeared in a new band in 2016.
