History & Biography
These Finnish boys have an odd name for a music band. Regardless, formed as Captivity in 1995, the band released two demos before changing their name in 1998. The band released an independent MCD in 1999 called Sophia's Eyes. The band signs for two albums with Mighty Music and also recruits vocalist Mikko Kotamäki in order to allow Tuomas Jäppinen to concentrate on his guitar. Spring of 2001 sees the release of Remotecontrolled Scythe, an album featuring harsh, yet melodic music with cover art from Niklas Sundin of Dark Tranquillity. In the summer of 2001 the band plays several Finnish shows including one at Rautarock Festival. The same year's autumn sees the album licensed to World War III for the USA market. News in early 2006 had it that the group has picked Coordinate: D1SA5T3R as the title for its sophomore album, due on February 27, 2006 through JMT-Music.

The band entered its own silence at this point. Jappinen played several concerts with Insomnium in 2011.

Reviews

ENTER MY SILENCE - REMOTECONTROLLED SCYTHE - MIGHTY
Remotecontrolled Scythe features an odd cover with a Z a la the mark of zorro smack in the middle of it all that can turn you off. Do not be turned off yet, as the material here will do that without much help. What these Finns do is not really bad, boring or awful; yet that's the problem it really isn't anything at all. Yes, they are a speed metal band with harsh Finnish vocals and all the dark lyrics that is standard today. That is the problem though, it is oh so standard, so unnecessary and offers little that my collection doesn't already possess at least a dozen times. In an ideal world, Enter My Silence would stand alone and receive recognition for their speed, heaviness, vocals, etc, In reality, this is monotonously unoriginal and will likely not be played again soon. - Ali "The Metallian"
