History & Biography
Brian Werking and bassist Chris Wiser formed the Maryland band back in 1986 and released a demo, entitled Descent Into Chaos, in the autumn of 1987. Guitarist Ted Hartz was also in the band. Another demo, called Immortality's End, followed in the spring of 1989. The band split up in 1990 due to a lack of interest. Two years later Chris reformed the band and released a demo in the spring of 1993. In the meanwhile Werking had reformed the band as a 'solo' act and was recording a parallel Exmortis' songs for a 7" release on Rage Records! While Chris dissolved his version of Exmortis in this period due to a conflict with guitarist Chewka, several months later he reformed the parallel Exmortis and aside from writing new songs compiled older songs for a tape and CD release. This product was for the asking in exchange for postage.

Brian Werking and a reformed Exmortis began working on a new demo in 2005.

Exmortis reformed in 2011 and signed with Xtreem Music for the release of a new EP and full-length album. The EP was called Resurrection... Book Of The Dead and out on the 20th of December. It was recorded by Brian Werking at Shockwerks Audio in Tampa, Florida a decade earlier. No other release was forthcoming and the band split up. 2010 and 2011 had delivered multiple compilation of the band's demos, but Hammerheart Records was not deterred and released Beyond The Realms Of Madness compilation of the band's music on vinyl in 2025. It included Descent Into Chaos” (now remembered as 1988), Immortality’s End and “Butchers Of The Urban Frontier.
