History & Biography
The band was founded using the name Stillwater in 1972 before changing its name a year later. Hailing from Australia, Finch mixed hard rock with boogie. Contraband featured AC/DC's Evans who was here on the second album. The debut is also known as Thunderbird (one more a feathered reference, which makes one wonder what they were hatching) and was preceded by a 1974 single called And She Sings. Simultaneously, the band contributed music to the soundtrack of the film Drouyn, The group toured its country with rock band Supernaut in 1976. The end was 1978 and a couple of the members regrouped in Contraband. Orford became a band booking agent.
