History & Biography The Essen-based band was formed by childhood friends in 2015. Germany-based hard rock trio Formosa came out of drunken stupor long enough to record a 2018 album called Sorry For Being Sexy. It was out through Sweepland Records in March. The band had a video for the song Starry Eyes from its 2021 album Danger Zone. The album was issued on vinyl by ftwctp Records in 2020.
Formosa issued a demo called Bittersweet through its own Metalmosa imprint in early 2023. The band had a video for the track Burning Desire. Supporting its Bittersweet demo, The band was playing several concerts in Europe after opening for Kissing Dynamite and Dynazty on tour in March. The Bones EP of 2022 was followed by an announcement of a Formosa Beer Festival 2022, which was to come with its own beer. Fuel It Up Tour 2024 was a mini-run with Crossplane in Europe. The band played Bierfest 2024 and Doiboch Open Air.
