History & Biography This Nottingham, England-based band relied on a simple and big Sabbathy sound and was promoted initially by Earache on the basis of a cover of Cream's Sunshine Of Your Love single/video. Further promotional activity was
rendered by Her Majesty's vice squad which had seized copies of the debut for the 'headless torso' cover. The album was re-issued with a more benign cover. The band - Newport in particular - was not favourably
disposed to touring and was said to continue studio work, but after a 1995 sampler called In A Word was disbanded.
Fudge Tunnel regularly recorded different cover versions. Their first release was a single called Sex Mammoth on Vinyl Solution in 1989 - the year of its formation.
Newport moved to the USA and produced bands at Future Shock studio. He had recorded Sepultura's Chaos A.D. album and married the daughter of Gloria Cavalera, Sepultura's manager and Max Cavalera's wife.
