History & Biography The grindcore band is another of Razorback's discoveries. This time the
story is that of a brain that, like an episode of Futurama, is on an
insane mission to destroy the universe and make Gwar seem positively
tame in comparison. The band's origin is a tightly-kept secret and the
debut featured a measly 63 songs, although the band's sole member John
is really an American. An album called Our Bovine Destroyers went
unpublished and was eventually included on the official full-length
debut. The band also had a split release with Umbrella on Crucificado
label.
Reviews GIGANTIC BRAIN - THE INVASION DISCOGRAPHY - RAZORBACK
What would explain an act like Gigantic Brain other than neurotic narcissism? And what would prompt a label to sign a one-man band whose idea of a good time is programming a computer to 600bpm with the added bonus of samples, synthesizers, vomit and a whole bunch of chutzpah? The bottom-line is that Gigantic Brain is terrible at best and could certainly use some, nay any, brain itself.
This is not metal, grindcore, industrial or even music for that matter. It is meant to be extremity for extremity's sake, which is an admirable design anytime, except this particular effort is ludicrous and yawn-inducing. It comes across as the lamer side of The Berzerker.
Ultimately, if you think this is extreme, fun, interesting or a combination thereof, you might as well flush your money down the toilet right now.* - Ali "The Metallian"
*This album is a thousand times better than the new Unleashed album.
