History & Biography Hailing from the south of France, the two proponents of Gomory - Naja-Atra and Incertaesedis - had been together since 1994 playing brutal heavy metal. The two crystallized Gomory in 2001. The band's debut recording was ostensibly made available after Snakebite Production persuaded the core duo to release an album. The CD was recorded at Winterized Studio. The two main members used session players for live shows.
The band proclaimed its debut album to be the first of a concept to be told in six chapters. My Throne appeared and was an independent release in 2013. Bastich (Bruno Calvez of Fleshdoll) sang here.
Reviews GOMORY - DESTRUCTION & MISERY - SNAKEBITE
Gomory is a total underground entity playing death metal out of the south of France. As such, not many people would have heard of the band. The band's main inspiration, given the songs on this debut, should be Deicide and Behemoth. The music is mostly fast and smooth. The core duo places a value on dynamics and swift movement. Additionally, the band takes care to mix melody with brutality. Taken as a whole it is a fine combination and one that works for the band's rhythmic and percussive orientation. Worthy of note is the song Power Is Illusion with its Death-like riff. - Ali "The Metallian"
