History & Biography The Aachen, Germany-based Helicon was formed by by Uwe Heepen and Kurt Reichert as early as 1987. The band
recorded a demo tape called The Heimbach Tapes. Andrea Münster was the singer here. She would end up in VII Sins, Andra and Battleday later. Another tape called Black And White was recorded in 1989 and soon released independently as
a single. Following several line-up changes, Berlin's Noise Records
offered the band a contract. Singer Heepen was putting together a line-up as he was getting a contract in place.
The band's debut was released in 1993, live tracks appeared on the Power
Of Metal Live sampler and another full-length came out in 1995. It was not as successful as the debut. The band would soon split up in 1997 following a couple of defections and the loss of its contract.
