History

Hugo is a Journey fan who spent time in a Journey cover band and in Valentine (later called Open Skyz) in the late '80s and early '90s. He released his first solo album in 1997 in Japan and Europe. This record featured a lot of material dating from the Valentine era. He had also played live at the Gods 1996 festival. The appearance was repeated in 1997. Time On Earth boasted a distinguished set of musicians including Teddy Rondenelli and Joey Sykes.
Hugo is often found playing drums and the keyboards. Hugo was later seen in a new Journey cover band. An independent album called Fire In The Night was also released.

Reviews

HUGO - TIME ON EARTH - FRONTIERS/ MAJESTIC
I have little idea what the market is like for a commercial A&R/ hard rock band like Hugo nowadays. It is safe to assume that the successful return of many genre bands can do no harm. Hugo, former Valentine member who here is aided by Ten guitarist Vinny Burns, is like a cross between Bon Jovi, White Lion and early Bryan Adams. It's all very commercially accessible and the kind of smooth sailing rock that one might play on a lazy summer afternoon. No, the low IQ Machine Head fan won't go for this; but who wants her support anyway? - Ali "The Metallian"
