History & Biography
Hype was an Oakville, Canada-based crossover band. The band released its debut independently and got its name out on the hardcore circuit before signing to Fringe in Canada and We Bite in Germany. John Barbisan joined in 1985. His band, named Ignorance, had actually opened for Hype.
John's younger brother, David Barbisan - who died in a house fire in 1994 - replaced Laverton in 1987. Hypbomb was released after the band's demise.
