History & Biography Louisiana-based Thrashers Incubus was formed in 1986 by the Brazilian
brothers Moyses and Francis and was managed by Michael Howard. Francis
Howard was reportedly once in Sepultura. The extreme and original
thrash
band soon issued a 1987 demo called Supernatural Death. Serpent
Temptation was issued through the fledgling Brutal Records and licensed
by AVM Records. This album featured Scot Latour on vocals and bass and
was later re-recorded by the new line-up and re-issued by Nuclear Blast
subsidiary Radiation Records with a new cover. Beyond The Unknown
protested abortion and saw Francis behind the microphone. The album was
recorded by Tom Morris at Morrisound Studio.
The band disappeared for nearly five years (although during this period
Nuclear Blast periodically announced new music from the band) before
returning for a Death Is Just The Beginning compilation appearance. The
band changed its monicker in order to avoid confusion with other better
financed and active bands with the same name. The newly-christened band
issued an album in 2000.
