History

Speed/thrash metal band Kat (Polish for executioner) was formed as early as 1979 in Katowice. The band issued a 7” EP in 1984 called Noce Szatana b/w Ostatni Tabor. The band’s full-length would soon follow. 666 was re-issued as Metal & Hell with English titles. Line-up changes have rocked the band ever since and the band has gone into hiatus, but the group has always made a come-back.

The 34-year old Jacek Regulski died on 29th October, 1999 in a motorcycle accident. His death sent the act into a prolonged pause. Somewhere In Poland was issued as both a CD and a video. Mind Cannibals featured new singer, Henry Beck. Kat has toured across Europe. Kat albums have featured some of the best metal artwork anywhere over the years. Poland’s KAT is back. Metal Mind Productions was issuing an 11 CD + 2 DVD box which was limited to a numbered 1,000 copies and was available on the 21st of January, 2008 in Europe.
