History

Formed in October 2010 by former Imagika guitarist Steve Rice and drummer Wayne DeVecchi. The band began as a continuation of the music Steve and Wayne had been working on before the death of Imagika. After recruiting former Eldritch guitarist Roberto Proietti, former Dark Angel bassist Danyael Williams and local singer Josh Gibson the band set to work on the writing and recording of its debut CD.

Bay Area thrash band Kill Ritual signed a worldwide deal for the October 30th, 2012 release of its debut CD, The Serpentine Ritual with Scarlet Records. Guitarist Proietti was on Scarlet with his band, Eldritch. The album was recorded and engineered by Kill Ritual Lead Guitarist Steve Rice at Fang Studio in San Mateo, California and Fossil Sound in San Jose, CA. Mix and Mastering was done by Andy LaRocque of King Diamond at his Sonic Train Studio in Varberg Sweden. LaRocque also made a guest appearance on the album with the final solo on the track, Coat Of Blood. The Bay Area band lined up 2013 US dates in support of its debut release, The Serpentine Ritual, which was issued through Scarlet Records. The band was also introducing new guitarist Mehl Anoma (ex-Potential and Threat SF) who takes over for the departing Roberto Proietti who stepped down because of a “demanding professional career and new family.” The band would sign a deal with Golden Core Records/ZYX Music. The band's next album, The Eyes Of Medusa, would be released in the spring of 2014. The album was recorded at Fossil Sound in San Jose, California and Fang Studio in San Mateo, California. The band announced the addition of drummer Koryun Bobikyan to the group's ranks who takes over for the recently departed Gee Anzalone. The new drummer hails from Armenia and is a veteran of bands like Stryfe, Sacrond and Sworn.

Kill Ritual started a search for a new singer following the departure of vocalist Josh Gibson at the end of 2014. The third Kill Ritual CD was already written and was in the final phase of recording. The new album would be mixed and mastered by Andy LaRocque at Sonic Train Studio once again. The band expected a summer of 2015 release for the CD. Byron Nemeth joined on guitar in 2016. The band was touring Europe with Hirax and Raven.
