History & Biography Ottawa’s Kuru in fact was formed as Nazi Occupied in 1994 before becoming Kuru a year later. The grindcore band issued several demos under the tutelage of Topon Das’ own Dedfuk Records before splitting up in 2000.
The Kuru members had a lot of fun calling their recordings things like The Other White Meat or Hooray For Vaginas, not to mention fabricating false backgrounds for the members including the beloved drum machine Rollie. They had always been so since forming in high school.

There are some constants in life. Death is one. Human sheep is another. Closer to home Dedfuk's penchant for releasing utter hookless, anti-melody is a good Canadian example. Take a belchcore outfit, a grindcore waffentruppe and an electronic noise monger of a mob; put them on one tape and watch the sales number surge like non-alcoholic beer on a summer afternoon in down town Kuwait City. No doubt about it, the sales scenario belongs to Mars, but hey so does the music. It's really out there, and that is a good thing.
