History & Biography
The heavy and speed metal band from southern France was active between 1991 and 1996 and again from 2000. In its first incarnation listeners were treated to The Dark Throne and The Calling demos of 1992 and 1993. The first demo had the band in its initial trio incarnation of singer and guitarist Jens Börner, bassist Chris and drummer Walkyr. Jen’ brother Félix Börner would join in time for The Calling. Singer and guitarist Jens was a Running Wild fan and some of the influence made its way here. The band split up after the Holy Evil 7” of 1995. An album tentatively entitled Children Of The Unlight was shelved for the same reason that the band died: a dispute with a record company.

The band returned in 2000 (with only the Jens Börner and Félix Börner brothers from the earlier line-up) and released the March Into The Arena demo in 2001. As is mandatory, a couple of labels quickly showed up to repress a demo. The recording featured lead guitarist Mark Ageuttand who left the act due to his work obligations. The group opened for Grave Digger and Nightmare. Unholy Paradise was supported through gigs with Paul Di'Anno, Sabaton and Grim Reaper among others. This album had the song Stronger Than Evil, which was Pagan Glory Part II. Part I was on the debut record. Bassist Dryss Boulmédaïs stayed until 2006. Made In Hell was supported through an appearance at the Up The Hammers Festival III in Greece. Jan Büning (Paragon) played the bass for the band here as Dryss had returned to Canada. To replace Dryss permanently, Lonewolf welcomed the former Nightmare guitarist, Alex Hilbert.

The 2009 album’s title harkened back to the act’s first demo. Majk Moti (ex-Running Wild) was a guest on it. The record was mixed by Andy LaRocque. The band appeared at Headbangers Open Air and Pounding Metal Fest. Felix Börner decided to leave the band and was replaced by Antoine Bussière. The gang toured with Dragonsfire and Iron Fate in 2011. Loneworlf was mixing its latest studio album, Army Of The Damned, at MP Studio in Poland. The album was produced by Bart Gabriel and featured a guest appearance by ex-Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley. Coincidentally, Lonewolf was also the name of a band by another former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno. The group was part of the Hellfest warm up tour in 2016. Guitarist Damien Capolongo left in 2010, returned in 2020 and left again in 2021. He cited the need for surgery on his arm upon his second exit. Bassist Rikki Mannhard and drummer Bubu Brunner also left in 2021. Earlier drummer Félix Börner, who had last left in 2009, reappeared in 2021. The band did a self-cover version of the early song, Erik The Red. Fabrice Emmanuelson was the newest bassist.
