LOVE FRAME – FORGIVENESS – SLIPTRICK
Metal fans would forgive this girl from reviewing Forgiveness here. Firstly, this is mostly not metal. Secondly, when the Metallian handed me the CD he presumably was not certain of the style the Italians follow. Thirdly, none of the members have long hair, which is uncool. Metal should be unconventional, different, dangerous and its musicians should not be looking exactly the same as every other member of society. Metal stands apart and moreover has its own standards.
Love Frame is a Northern Italian band which makes no bones about its love for HIM-styled romantic rock. The three boys and one chick singer have a very developed and distinct sound, however, and are undeniably not copies. The group has achieved a very high sound and engineering at a measure that is beyond the ability of most bands. More bands should look into MagnitudeStudio. The vocals are emotional and evocative of Avatarium’s Jennie-Ann Smith. It is undeniable that these tunes are emotional and are sung from the heart. Still, the gang goes too commercial and too often. Blue is a slow song and closing track Rakkaus On Ikuista is just over three minutes of trying to get on the pop charts. The rest of the album shows much more promise, but never for a heavy metal fan. – Sheila Wes Det
