History & Biography This heavy metal/hard rock/punk band was formed in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1979 and had a demo tape in 1983. A bassist called Magloo had departed by this time. The group’s first major show was at the Athens Music Festival. The year after the band garnered much publicity by being included in Metal Blade’s Metal Massacre IV sampler. There was also the All Knobs To The Right demo, which proclaimed the supremacy of heavy metal. The group signed with New Renaissance Records of California and issued an EP in 1986 followed by a full-length. The band asserts that it broke up once its records were locked up in the warehouse of New Renaissance’s distributor, Important. New Renaissance and Important were in a legal dispute. NRR reissued the band’s music in 2008 with additional information and photographs. The band played at the Kzoo Metal Fest III on Saturday, November 8th, 2008 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Live '04 was recorded and released independently in 2010. The Demo Recordings was also released by the band in the same year. Another compilation was 2014's One Morbid.
The Amsbuist surname was reportedly an amalgamation of the two main members’ actual names signifying a bonding of forces. The band also opened for Exciter.
