History & Biography
The Koblenz, Germany-based Metal Inquisitor was active between January 1998 and 2021. The band issued five studio and one live record during this time. The founders were Mr. Witchhammer (of Desaster and later Asphyx and Sodom) and Mr. Blumi. The latter had imagined a solo project before attracting the former to found the act.

A 1998 demo was followed by Seven Inches For The Second Attack 7" and a 2000 demo. T.P. joined and drummer Witchhammer (Desaster, Asphyx, etc.) left in 2000. He was too busy with his main act and Metal Inquisitor had begun playing more gigs. The line-up had a covers' side-project called Left Rhine Happy Natures. Iron Glory issued the group’s debut album in 2002. The song Get Down (Fire) was renamed Get Down here. The band also included a cover version of a song by Poland's Open Fire. The band undertook a European The Apparition Tour 2002/2003. Metal Inquisitor started asking more questions with a split release with Ritual Steel called Before The Apocalypse next. No confirmation whose l’il daughter had drawn the cover. The group played at the Rock Hard festival. The band’s line-up remained stable for the second album. The group issued an album taped at Headbangers Open Air in 2006. A number of rare recordings formed the basis for the Garage Nights compilation of 2008. The third album was again on Hellion and again featured a stable line-up. The Euthanasia By Fire single of 2013 featured a cover version of Satan and one of Tygers Of Pan Tang.

The band switched to Massacre Records for 2014’s Ultima Ratio Regis. Some chap called Cliff Bubenheim was on bass. Kronos had left in 2006, returned in 2008 and left again 2010. Havoc left in 2019. Drummer Chris joined, but the band announced its dissolution in late 2021.
