History & Biography
Brazilian hard rockers Mindflow have been around since 1999 and maintained a relatively stable line-up. Rafael Pensado and Rodrigo Hidalgo were actually based in Australia before the band was formed. The two were school-mates. The group flew to Spain to tour Europe in 2004. Luis of Heavencross had organized the mini-tour. The group managed to get on the bill for Live 'N' Louder Brazil in 2006. The band had several albums on several labels, except for 2009’s 365 which was self-released. This release had a song a month. Mindflow was next billed for ProgPower USA X in 2009. The third album, Destructive Device, was produced by American man Ben Grosse who had worked with a number of mallcore bands and Megadeth. The band opened for Megadeth at a show in 2012 and disappeared. Then there was the announcement of second guitarist Cacá Barros joining the act in 2023.

Reviews

MINDFLOW - JUST THE TWO OF US... ME AND THEM - HEAVENCROSS/NIGHTMARE
Past the clever title of the album, Mindflow is a correspondingly progressive hard rock band with a mixture of styles and temperaments and a myriad of influences. The vocalist is respectable and a dweller of the mid to high range, while the songs go from Rush to Angra to Iron Maiden to Threshold and (phew) to Fates Warning. Electronic elements and orchestral interludes flow in the mind of these Brazilian newcomers, but it is the progressive and involved hard and heavy rock that is the band's bread and engineered butter. As importantly, the songs mostly lack a defined structure. That is, expecting a chorus, a verse and a definition from Mindflow would lead to disappointment. The music flows on the album as easily as cheap wine in a monastery. Mindflow is an interesting band with a lot to offer and one that bears watching. - Ali "The Metallian"
