History

Piedmont on the border of France was the site for the founding of Mortuary Drape in 1986. The occult band fronted two bassists and issued multiple demos, including Demo ’86, 1987’s Live Tape '87 and Necromancy and 1989’s Doom Return. Wildness Perversion also took over the vocals in 1990. Greece’s Decapitated Records released the band’s Into The Drape EP in late 1992. The band released its debut album in 1995 through Decapitated/Unisound. Witches Dance In Valenthia was a vinyl release and a live album. The group appeared in the USA at the 2012 Maryland Death Fest. The group issued a split with Sweden’s Shining. Tolling 13 Knell was re-issued by Peaceville and given new packaging.

Multiple members have come and gone, but Maini has remained the group’s founding anchor. Mortuary Drape has maintained an occult imagery.
