History & Biography
The death metal act existed under another name for two years before adopting the Necropsy monicker in 1989. The membership changed in those years. There was a split release with Demigod through Seraphic Decay Records in 1992. The group disbanded in 1994, but could not leave it alone so returned in 2008. There were many demos in the early days. These included Mental Disturbance in 1989, Curse in 1990 and Indigestion again in 1990.

The band signed with Xtreem in 2012. Xtreem's predecessor had released Demigod's debut album. Century Media the band’s demos as a package in 2013. Veteran Finland-based group Necropsy had a mini-album called Exitus through Xtreem Music in January 2020. The band had released a lyric video for the track 206 Motives. The act appeared with early band drummer Taito Soramäki at Finnish Death Metal Maniacs fest 5 in 2023. Sami Heinonen switched to bass. Hannu Väänänen left in 2023 although Teppo Ristola had been playing gigs with the band whenever the drummer's time allowed.

There are and have been multitudes of Necropsys on the metal scene.
